Other Peoples Stuff + eBay = Student Loan Savings

You may have to check your morals at the door for this one, as what I am suggesting is wrong and could cause some troubles for you. But if you are ready to take some chances and have fun then this strategy to put some money in your pocket to save up to defeat the evils powers of The Student Loan.

This usually works best if you have a roommate, preferably a roommate that you do not get along with. You don’t have to have a roommate, maybe just a few ‘Klepto’ tendencies. The short version is to sell your roommates belongings on eBay. Plain and simple, that’s it.

You can delve much more deeper than this though and get a touch creative for maximum results.

Last summer during the whole Harry Potter craze my roommate had purchased a copy of the final book of the series on the first day it came out. He then speed-read through the entire book and left me a ‘fog mirror message’ detailing exactly who dies in the final book, thus ruining any suspense in reading the book.

So what did I do?

I stole his book and told the whole story in an eBay auction. I basically told the same story as above, but much longer and with a humourous touch to it. I started the bidding at 99 cents because I didn’t care how much it sold for. I ended up selling the book for $50!

After the auction ended, I went to the book store and picked up another copy of the book and sold that as well. The third time the book never sold because I think people caught on to what I was doing.

First off stealing is wrong, and could get you booted from school, so I don’t advocate actually stealing from your roommate, but you can get creative. Purchase some kind of cheap item that is popular at the time, and create a story about it, or even better make a video of your roommate going crazy looking for whatever it was that you stole.

Just get creative. If you want some ideas, check out this category on eBay
